On Monday 28 December 2020, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that from midnight on 29 December 2020, South Africa would be moving to an “adjusted” alert level 3. This is to try and flatten the curve of infections as the country is battling a second wave of the coronavirus (COVID-19). This new “adjusted” alert level 3 will remain in place until 15 January 2021 at which time it will be reviewed. The President also announced that more regions had been identified as coronavirus hotspot areas, among them is the Capricorn district in Polokwane.
As a church, we understand that the command to love our neighbours as ourselves also means protecting our neighbours. That is why we will do everything we can to ensure that we do not put people at risk of contracting the virus through our actions. Therefore, in line with the President’s address, we are suspending all in-person church gatherings with immediate effect until it is safe for us to gather together again.
We also recognize that keeping people safe physically is not enough, your spiritual health is also very important to us. That is why we have put the following measures and resources in place and insist on them:
Church At Home
We will do the best we can to continue to provide you with online content that you can watch from the safety of your home on Sundays. Please note, due to the current reality of living in a coronavirus hotspot, the content provided may look a little bit different. We ask that you be patient with us as we endeavor to get this right.
Bible in One Year 2021 Reading Plan
Developing a habit of regularly reading and meditating upon the Word of God is very important for every believer. This spiritual food is more important than physical food, as it has benefits for this life and the next! From 1 January 2021, we will launch the 2021 Bible in One Year reading plan for the entire congregation. We invite you to join us on this very rewarding journey. Those who are in the middle of the 2020 reading plan can choose to continue with that plan or start again on this one.
We encourage you to get 2 or 3 other people and hold each other accountable on this journey. To go on this journey with the whole church, join us on the Bible App by clicking here.
