On Sunday 24 May 2020, the President announced that the country would move from level 4 to level 3 of the lockdown from 01 June 2020. He then made a further announcement on Tuesday 26 May regarding Faith Based Organizations in response to meeting with the leaders of the various religious groups in South Africa.
As from Monday 01 June 2020, Churches will be permitted to host gatherings of not more than 50 people in attendance under level 3 regulations, with certain restrictions.
As the leadership team of Peoples Church, we have prayerfully considered how best to proceed, given the demographics of our members, and we have decided that the best route for us to take is to delay resuming gatherings for the time-being. It is our firm belief that the safety and wellbeing of our members and the public is of paramount importance, especially in times such as these.
We will continue to assess the situation and communicate accordingly.
The virtual services and small groups will continue running, as well as ensuring the needs of those who are most vulnerable among us are taken care of. We wish to pass our heartfelt gratitude to the members of the body for your generosity and love that you have demonstrated through the COVID relief.
