  The Peoples Church theme for 2021 is Built To Last.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n\n

If something is important to you or to those you care about, then of course, you want that thing to be built to last. Because the thing impacts people you care about, then you do not want it to just be built anyhow. Having that said though, what does it mean for something to be built to last?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

To a certain extent, the phrase may mean something a bit different depending on the context. It may mean something that is safe, dependable, resilient, durable. Something that’s of high quality. It may mean something that’s built with a long term view in mind. Something that is sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\nWouldn’t you want that for your marriage or any important relationship in your life? Of course you would. What about your business, your career, family, or products and services. I bet you do, as I do too. But having a desire to make things that are built to last will not automatically result in us doing so. It is not enough to simply have a desire, but that desire must be accompanied by intentional steps towards the desired outcome.\n\n\n\n\nWhich brings us now to this question: How does one make things that are built to last? That is the question we will spend a lot of time investigating as the year unfolds. We will look at some qualities of things that have been built to last with an intention of learning and applying the underlying principles into those things that matter most to us.\n\n\n\n\nAs leaders of a local expression of the world-wide Body of Christ, we are filled with excitement as well as a sense of responsibility and we can’t wait to apply what we learn in building up and strengthening the Church, which is God’s temple. We are persuaded that when Jesus was speaking to His disciples (Matthew 16:18<\/a>) He was casting a vision of something that is built to last.\n\n\n\n\nSo then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.\n\n\n\n\n
