Where Is Your Hope?

It was one of the worst weekends for some in Jerusalem while others thought they had triumphed. Travellers had come from near and far to celebrate the Jewish feast of Passover. A first century Jewish carpenter-turned-rabbi had been crucified on a Roman cross as a blasphemer. The city’s streets were littered with broken dreams and shattered hopes of some that thought and hoped this rabbi would be the long-awaited Messiah. In the midst of all the disappointments and confusion, three words changed everything! The same three words have the potential to change everything for us in our own crisis (or is it crises?).

Love Jesus Above All Things

At the height of Jesus’ popularity, he turned to His followers to say one of the most difficult-to-accept statements in just about the entire Bible. What does He mean, “and does not hate his own father and mother…”? Is Jesus interested in becoming a cult leader? Understanding what Jesus meant here is at the heart of what it means to be a true follower of Jesus.

Crossing Over To The Other Side

It was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of moment. The nation of Israel was at the cusp of crossing over to inherit the land that had been promised to their forefathers. But between them and their inheritance stood an impossible situation. Without boats or rafts to cross the Jordan river, it seemed they would not be able to cross over to possess the land God had sworn to give to them. What Joshua said to them will also help us to be able to cross over any challenging situation to possess God’s promises for us.

God’s Love For You

In our journey to loving Jesus, we normally make a very big mistake. That mistake is, we assume that He is just like all the other people that we have interacted with and been in relationships with. But Jesus is unlike anyone we have ever met and a relationship with Him is unlike any relationship we have ever been in.

Living Generously (All Year Round)

Generosity as a lifestyle is a much better way to live, also, Christians have a much better motivation for living generous lives. Namely, the greatest gift anyone can ever receive here on earth, the gift of salvation. We are generous because God is a generous God and we are made in His image.

The Mercy & Grace of God

Sometimes something can be so common that we sometimes struggle understanding just what it means. That is why in this teaching we look at the concepts of God’s mercy and grace and endeavour to answer the following two questions: (1) What does God’s mercy and grace actually mean? (2) How should God’s mercy and grace change how we live our lives?

Overcoming Worry & Anxiety

As 2020 draws to a close, worry and anxiety have gotten the better of even the best among us. And yet, the scriptures command us not to worry nor be anxious over anything and that we should pray about everything. In this teaching we look at how to do just that, live lives free of worry and anxiety.

Life In The Wilderness

We all find ourselves doing life in the wilderness from time to time. Times of waiting, preparation, testing and even temptations. While it is true that God sometimes leads us into wildernesses, He does it for our own good and wants us to succeed through them. In this teaching we learn some important lessons regarding doing life in the wilderness from Jesus’ own wilderness experience. We learn the crucial distinction between tests and temptations as well as ways to avoid giving into temptations.
